Welcome to Jerne Counseling LLC
Where healing, growth, and hope begin.
Welcome to Jerne Counseling LLC, where you will find compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to meet you or your child where you are. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic pain, a major life transition, or seeking answers about your child's development through an autism evaluation, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Autism evaluations including the use of standardized assessment tools such as the ADOS-2, CARS, and Vineland-3, evaluations are designed to look at the whole child—not simply a diagnosis.
Through a personalized, trauma-informed approach, individuals and families better understand their experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful change.
Our work integrates EMDR, mindfulness, somatic approaches, and other evidence-based therapeutic strategies to support healing of the mind and body.
Your journey matters. Your healing matters. And you don't have to walk it alone.
Jerne’s Mission
At Jerne Counseling LLC, our mission is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care that help individuals and families better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change. We are committed to supporting children and families through developmental autism evaluations and providing adults with personalized psychotherapy that addresses trauma, anxiety, grief, chronic stress, life transitions, and feeling stuck. Through approaches such as EMDR, mindfulness, and somatic therapy, we strive to create a safe, supportive space where healing, growth, resilience, and hope can flourish.

Meet Shella
Shella Beauzil is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts. She is also a trained EMDR-IA therapist, blending evidence-based therapy with a compassionate, whole-person approach.
Shella earned her Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, and her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College. With over a decade of experience, she has supported children, families, and adults through life’s most challenging transitions. Her work spans child therapy, early childhood intervention, autism evaluation, and adult psychotherapy. She has also specialized in working with oncology patients, caregivers, and survivors—helping individuals and families find resilience and hope while navigating the uncertainty of illness and recovery.
Shella’s career also includes years in hospital settings, where she worked in both acute care and rehabilitation. As a medical social worker, case manager, and discharge planner, she guided patients and families through complex care transitions, connected them with essential resources, and provided steady emotional support during times of vulnerability and change.
In addition to her clinical training, Shella holds a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification. While she isn’t currently teaching classes, she draws on the principles of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation to help clients regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, and reconnect with themselves. Her holistic style meets people where they are—combining therapeutic skills with calming, body-based tools for healing and growth.
As an artist, mother of two, and lifelong learner, Shella brings warmth, creativity, and authenticity into every session. Her goal is simple: to create a safe, empowering space where clients can feel seen, supported, and capable of meaningful change.
